In truth, the spark that motivated OwnStream was a disdain for ads. That is only a motivation, not a path forward. The OwnStream mission is to align incentives across platform, creators, and viewers. Aligned incentives means that when one wins, then everybody wins.

OwnStream is founded by Patrick Jakobsen, also known as Zelaven, who is a computer scientist from Denmark. Patrick has worked with entrepreneurship without investors before, and is equipped with the necessary experience, business knowledge, and domain expertise to build a better future for creators and viewers.
